How does the new M37 compare to the new BMW 535i?
Answered By Justin Cupler, Contributing Writer:
The first glaring thing is that the Infiniti M37 simply looks better than the BMW. Yes, the BMW has its refined and pretty typical look. The M37, on the other hand, has a very modern look with sweeping lines that don't exist on any other vehicle.
As for mechanically, the M37 beats the 535i pretty easily. The M37 puts down 330 horsepower to the 535i's 300 horsepower. The BMW squeaks out a little more torque at 300 foot-poundsvs. 270 foot-pounds. The M37 comes with a seven-speed automatic transmission to the 535i and its six-speed automatic.
The front seats on the M37 have slightly less room than the 535i, but the M37's rear seats offer more passenger room. The standard features are nearly identical, except the M37 comes standard with leather interior.
The BMW gets 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. The Infiniti gets slightly fewer mpg at 18 in the city and 26 on the highway.
Now the big thin, price. The Inifiniti bases out at $47,050 and the BMW's base price is $50,100. Side-by-side, I would recommend the Infiniti M37.
