What's New for 2017: Dodge

December 15, 2016

With a lineup that's about to shrink by not one but two cars, you may begin to wonder about the Dodge brand's future. However, there's no reason for alarm—although its current models are beginning to age, Dodge parent FCA says it plans to invest heavily here (to take the bull by the horns, if you will).

For 2017, there's not a whole lot to report. The Dodge Dart has been axed, although dealers should have a lengthy supply of 2016s (which isn't a surprise given how poorly the Dart has sold since its introduction a few years ago). And the Dodge Grand Caravan will bite the dust after 2017, when a new crossover is expected to arrive in the Dodge lineup.

Another model entering its last year is the Dodge Viper SRT. The iconic sports car has, more or less, been a part of Dodge's lineup since 1992. It exits stage left with several new special edition models.

Dodge's more positive news is that all-wheel drive is finally an option on the Challenger coupe, something that has been rumored for the last several years.

Otherwise, there are some tech updates to many of Dodge's models—namely, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now available.
