AutoNation recalls, Dodge Challenger GT, Tesla recall: What's New @ The Car Connection

A little over a year ago, AutoNation made a very bold move. In the wake of headline-dominating recalls from General Motors and Takata and more than a little public pressure, America's largest vehicle retailer vowed to fix every recalled used car on its lots.

If you have children or pets, it might be hard to imagine accidentally leaving them in your car, but sadly, people do. This year alone, 39 children have died from heatstroke in vehicles--either because they were left in cars accidentally or because they got into a vehicle when adults weren't around.

 
The Volvo V60 and Audi Allroad are two examples of good crossover-SUV alternatives. Each maker offers SUVs of about the same footprint—taller, bulkier, and less fuel-efficient—but these are old-school wagons derived from sedans.

From Green Car Reports: 

Tesla will voluntarily recall about 7,000 electric-car charging adapters after two reports of overheating resulting in melted plastic on the adapters.

The first 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV electric cars should be arriving in dealershipssometime this month, likely in electric-car friendly California before anywhere else.

A week ago, the EPA recommended that U.S. vehicle emission standards stay put for the years 2022 through 2025.
