What's New for 2017: Acura

November 2, 2016

Acura sees the return of its most vaunted nameplate to its rosters for 2017. The NSX sports car has been reborn after a more than decade absence, but it's not just a refresh of the old model. Instead, it's a total reboot that results in one of the most advanced production cars ever built.

With its combination of gasoline and electric power, it's easy to write off the NSX as simply a sporty hybrid. But that's far from the case. It features a twin-turbo V-6 and trio of electric motors, two of which help complete its all-wheel drive powertrain. With over 570 horsepower on tap from the four power units, it's ferocious, precise, and exclusive; just 500 will be built for model year 2017 and, frankly, you need to have already placed your order.

If you're looking for something a little more pedestrian, the Acura MDX has been treated to a substantial refresh for 2017. In addition to updated styling inside and out, it features a new 9-speed automatic transmission and its optional all-wheel drive system has been given a full re-do. There's also a performance-oriented Sport Hybrid variant that utilizes a three-motor hybrid system.
