170,000 Audis recalled, Porsche 718s driven, the 133 MPGe Prius Prime: What's New @ The Car Connection

This morning, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued two recalls for Audi vehicles, both of which stem from potential fuel leaks--and therefore, potential fire hazards. More than 170,000 cars and crossovers in the U.S. are affected.

 
Despite the surging popularity of utility vehicles, today's small sedans are do-it-alls. They're practically mid-size these days, and the top entrants still sell hundreds of thousands of units a year. And each new entrant offers better safety, nicer interiors, and features that equal and sometimes outdo pricier rivals.

Although heavy duty trucks aren't exactly nimble trail machines, GMC has upped its off-road game with a new All Terrain X package for its Sierra HD pickups.
