The complicated and confusing Takata airbag recall is no longer front-page news, but never fear: the nightmare for Takata, automakers, and consumers plays on.
The Cadillac XTS is a handsome restatement of the brand's long-standing Art & Science design theme, though it's backed off the extreme angles and edges of the prior generation of Cadillacs. With a softly arched roofline and smoothly styled sides, it's a plus-sized complement to the other Cadillac models.
The 2016 Hyundai Tucson has now joined the 2016 Hyundai Sonata in being able to claim top five-star federal safety ratings from the federal government. For the Tucson, they complement some especially top-notch results released earlier this fall, when the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) also gave the Tucson excellent crash-test ratings for the 2016 Hyundai Tucson.
2016 Chevrolet COPO Camaro Courtney Force concept, 2015 SEMA show
Chevrolet teamed up with NHRA Camaro Funny Car driver Courtney Force to develop a concept previewing the 2016 COPO Camaro based on the all-new, sixth-generation Camaro muscle car. The concept is called the COPO Camaro Courtney Force, and it made its debut today at the SEMA show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
These are the first spy shots of the next-generation Subaru Impreza. The current Impreza was introduced for the 2012 model year, and given the fact that Subaru tends to redesign its models every five years or so we should see the new generation of the popular compact arrive as a 2017 model.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ official aftermarket and accessories division Mopar has brought an assortment of vehicles to this week’s SEMA show in Las Vegas, the highlight of which is this all-wheel-drive Dodge Challenger. It’s called the Challenger GT AWD and is strictly a concept at this point.
2015 Porsche Cayenne Diesel
Last month, Volkswagen apparently admitted that it had used "defeat device" software to evade emission controls in 482,000 cars sold in the U.S. with three versions of its 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine. Then, yesterday, the EPA issued a complaint in which it accused VW of incorporating similar software into its 3.0-liter V-6 diesels, which are used by Audi and Porsche as well.
Honda has gradually pared down the number of models using its Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) mild-hybrid system, to the point that only one remains. But for the time being, that sole survivor isn't going anywhere.
The company GEM has specialized in small, low-speed electric vehicles for more than 15 years; at one point during its life it was even owned by Chrysler. Fitting into the class of "neighborhood electric vehicles," GEM products feature all-electric powertrains, but aren't substantial enough to be used in all circumstances that highway-capable cars can handle.
