Entering its fifth year on the market, the 2016 Toyota Prius V wagon remains the largest and most capacious member of the Prius hybrid family. It has a taller, boxier version of the family Prius shape, but uses the same powertrain as the last generation of Prius liftback--sacrificing some performance and a bit of fuel efficiency in what is obviously a heavier and bulkier vehicle.
The so-called defeat device (otherwise called a 'cheat mode') that’s in up to 482,000 U.S. VW and Audi vehicles, and up to 11 million vehicles worldwide, helps circumvent emissions rules by running in a cleaner mode during an official emissions test, then emitting up to 40 times the legal limit of some pollutants—specifically oxides of nitrogen—during ordinary driving.

According to Auto News, the Environmental Protection Agency is preparing stringent new tests for those vehicles, and we could be well into the new year before you sign on the dotted line.

The first independent test with actual quantifiable results of the current crop of hybrid supercars made up of the Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder has finally been done, and it’s all thanks to British entrepreneur Paul Bailey who happens to own all three cars.
An eighth installment of the popular Fast and Furious franchise is set to debut April 14, 2017, and we now know who will be directing it. The new movie, tentatively titled Fast 8, will be directed by F. Gary Gray whose previous titles include this year’s hit Straight Outta Compton as well as 2009’s Law Abiding Citizen and 2003’s version of The Italian Job.
Swiss engineering and design firm Rinspeed traditionally graces the company’s home event, the Geneva Motor Show, with wild, forward-looking concept vehicles, but in 2016 we’ll see Rinspeed head to the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas for the first time.

Mitsubishi will unveil a new concept car at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show that may preview a future all-electric production crossover. The Mitsubishi eX concept is a small crossover utility vehicle that's similar in size to the current Outlander Sport--which is due for replacement soon.
