2015-2016 Ford Explorer, 2015 Ford Taurus, Flex, 2015 Lincoln MKS, MKT Recalled To Fix Parking Brake

July 23, 2015

Ford Motor Company has issued a recall for select, late-model crossovers and sedans, including the 2015-2016 Ford Explorer, 2015 Ford Taurus, 2015 Ford Flex, and 2015 models of the Lincoln MKS and MKT. The recall affects nearly 8,000 vehicles and stems from an issue with the parking brake.

The problem is rooted in the parking brake control assembly. Ford says that in some of the affected vehicles, the component may prevent the parking brake from fully engaging, creating a safety hazard. To date, however, Ford knows of no accidents or injuries linked to the issue.
