Some pundits have predicted that China's auto market is unstoppable. To prove their point, they often point to the country's booming middle class, who aspire to own the same luxuries as their counterparts in the West.
General Motors has issued two recalls affecting roughly 250,000 Chevrolet and Hummer vehicles, 210,000 of which are registered in the U.S. The Hummer recall is the larger of the two and has been linked to 42 fires caused by part of the SUVs' climate control system.

That's the conclusion of a new University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute study, which should put an extra spring in the step of diesel owners.
