From The Car Connection:
By now, the Toyota Prius is legendary. It's by far the best-known hybrid in the world, and it remains the most highly-rated car for fuel efficiency sold in the U.S. without a plug. The range-extended electric Chevy Volt, on the other hand, lets its drivers cover 35 to 40 miles a day on pure electric power (assuming the plug it in to recharge), after which it becomes a more conventional hybrid.
Nearly every manufacturer and brand now puts out a crossover model, and among them there's one to meet almost every size and price point. Head to where compact meets mid-size and you're likely to consider the Chevrolet Equinox and the GMC Terrain.
Last month, we talked about an interesting trend in auto manufacturing -- namely, the fact that many foreign car companies are building factories in the American South. Today, we can add another automaker to the list: Volvo, which is setting up shop in South Carolina.
2016 Dodge Viper ACR
Even five years after its launch, the previous-generation Dodge Viper ACR is still one of the fastest production cars around a track, with only the all-wheel-drive Nissan GT-R NISMO and Porsche 918 Spyder managing to upset the car’s 7:12.13 Nürburgring lap time, set in 2011. Now there’s a new American Club Racer, based on the fifth-generation Viper.

A couple of weeks ago we learned that dormant Italian sports car brand De Tomaso was sold to a Chinese consortium for a little over $1 million, and that the new owner would most likely end up slapping the De Tomaso badge on a sedan built in China, as opposed to a new sports car built in Italy.

Sport-utility vehicles are all about hauling stuff, so collecting a set of 40-year-old wheels seemed like the perfect road test for the new 2015 Chevrolet Trax. The subcompact SUV offered cargo space for the wheels--which, frankly, would have fit into a sedan--along with decent gas mileage on our long highway trip from upstate New York to suburban Virginia and back.
Andy Thomson is at the white-knuckled, breath-sucking end of his electric car’s range. His battery is almost flatlining. It’s minus 26 Celsius outside on the lonely road to North Bay, Ontario.
Tesla Motors' direct sales business model has met considerable opposition from auto-dealer associations in several states. Lobbying efforts have ensured that there are some states where it's illegal for the company to sell you a Tesla Model S electric car.
