Earlier this month, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration closed an investigation of GM trucks and SUVs from model years 1999 to 2003. At least 2,702 owners of those vehicles complained about brake-line corrosion, and a total of 88 collisions had been linked to the problem, as well as 20 injuries.

The automotive press gives out many, many awards each year, and BMW is certainly no stranger to receiving them. Enthusiast magazines have heaped praise on the company's cars for years, usually for their sporty handling and luxurious appointments.
Two years ago, the launch of the Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid produced the first ostensible large luxury plug-in sedan competitor to the Tesla Model S electric car. The Porsche is a plug-in hybrid, with an electric range of 15 or 16 miles; the Tesla is all-electric, with ranges of 208 to 275 miles.
Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk once notoriously called hydrogen fuel-cell cars "bull****"," and for a moment, it may seem that Toyota agrees. The Japanese carmaker recently hired filmmaker Morgan Spurlock to direct the first in a series of videos touting the benefits of renewable hydrogen for its upcoming Mirai fuel-cell sedan.
