Ford Edge, VW SportWagen First Drives: What’s New @ The Car Connection

From The Car Connection:

2015 Ford Edge: First Drive

Does the 2015 Ford Edge stay true to its badge? Not exactly; it’s always worn its edge—or edginess—with a sort of irony. Completely reengineered and redesigned this year, it steps the Edge up in innumerable ways, to embody the more detail-oriented look and feel that's characterized all the Ford vehicles that have been fully redone over the past three or four years—like the Focus, Escape, and Fusion.

2015 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen: First Drive

The 2015 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen is a wagon version of the new VW Golf--and that's essentially the major thing you need to know about the car. One of very few genuine wagons in the compact-car segment, the SportWagen shares all of the virtues and the few vices of the seventh-generation Golf hatchback on sale for a few months now. Think of it simply as a 2015 Golf with a whole lot more storage room. At 30.4 cubic feet behind the rear seat, or 66.5 cubic feet with the seat folded flat, it has at least as much cargo volume as most compact crossover utility vehicles.

2015 Hyundai Genesis Recalled To Fix Leaky Lights

Hyundai Motor America has announced a recall of the 2015 Genesis. According to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the model has a leak that could allow water into the taillight. That in itself may not seem like a big deal. After all, most of us have had a leaky headlight or two over the years. The difference is, the leak in the Genesis can cause an electrical glitch that may result in two different problems.

Rear-Drive Lamborghini Huracán Due In 2016?

The Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Balboni, named after famed Lamborghini test driver Valentino Balboni, saw a rear-drive version of the Huracán’s predecessor sold to the public for its dynamic purity. Soon, a rear-drive Huracán may join the fold, too.

Clarkson So Upset With BBC He May Quit 'Top Gear': Punch, Cry, Run?

The bravado and buffoonery that have become Jeremy Clarkson’s trademark style have landed him in hot water with the BBC once again—and this time, he’s been suspended. On top of that, Top Gear will not be broadcast this Sunday as a result. Now, according to a source close to Clarkson, he's so upset with the BBC and the strained relationship that he may quit even if things are smoothed over.

(Unofficial) World’s Fastest Hot Tub: The Carpool Deville

While 50 mph doesn’t sound like much for a top speed, and a Cadillac Deville filled with water doesn’t sound like much of a top-speed car, the Carpool Deville is the world’s fastest—hot tub, that is. Unofficially.

Tesla Model S P85D Hot Rod Now Has Shortest Delivery Time

The Tesla Model S P85D electric car is arguably the world's quickest production sedan, but it now seems to have another speedy distinction. That's because the most expensive version of the Model S also has the shortest time between online order and vehicle delivery of any Tesla currently on sale.

Audi Q7 e-Tron Plug-In Hybrid Will Be Gasoline, Not Diesel, For U.S. And China

No diesel hybrids are now sold in North America, but diesel enthusiasts have lately been salivating over the Audi Q7 e-tron quattro diesel plug-in hybrid formally launched at the Geneva Motor Show. Sadly for those TDI fans, Audi will limit that model to European sale. Both North America and China will get a gasoline engine in their versions of the Q7 e-tron quattro plug-in hybrid instead.

Toyota Mirai Should Cost The Same As Diesel Sedan Of Same Size, Toyota Says

The 2016 Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle is priced at $57,500 in the U.S. That's far more than a typical internal-combustion or hybrid Toyota of similar size, but Toyota had to undertake significant cost-cutting measures just to achieve that price, it has said. While the Mirai hasn't yet gone on sale in the U.S. yet, Toyota says it's already looking to lower the fuel-cell car's price to that of a comparable model with an internal-combustion engine.
