The Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-In Hybrid has now been on sale in Europe and Japan for more than two years, but U.S. buyers will still have to wait a while to get their hands on the plug-in crossover. While a refreshed 2016 Outlander is set to arrive here in June, the plug-in version may not follow until almost a year afterward--likely as a 2017 model.
The BMW i3 electric car enters its second model year largely unchanged, with a few added features and a price hike to boot. The 2015 BMW i3 now comes standard with DC fast-charging capability, satellite radio, and heated front seats--for a starting price that's $1,075 higher than the 2014 model.
Toyota is recalling certain 2014 and 2015 Prius V hybrid wagons to fix an improperly-calibrated airbag occupant classification system (OCS). The OCS determines whether the front passenger seat is occupied, and if so, by a passenger of sufficient weight to require airbag protection. If that is not the case, the passenger airbag is shut off.
