The fully redesigned 2015 Mustang has generated more enthusiasm than any other nominee. Whether it’s the newly available turbocharged four-cylinder EcoBoost power, the independent rear suspension and more refined ride and handling, or the vastly improved cabin look and feel, there are plenty of reasons to fall for this modern pony car—now truly more of a sophisticated grand-touring sports car.
But is it the Best Car To Buy? As we caution in our callout for votes, it’s “meant to highlight the leader of the pack—a value-rich vehicle we think car shoppers should at least consider before buying their next car.”
That’s how we arrived at our list of 2015 Best Car To Buy Nominees, which includes eleven top-rated vehicles: the Acura TLX, Ford F-150, Ford Mustang, Honda Fit, Hyundai Genesis, Hyundai Sonata, Lincoln MKC, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class, Subaru Legacy, and Subaru Outback.
Voting is now closed, but you can see those results below. Of 1,865 votes, 362 were placed for the Mustang. The Ford F-150 was a relatively close second place, with 314 votes, while the Hyundai Genesis earned third place, with 236 votes. Rounding up fourth and fifth place are the Acura TLX and Subaru Outback.
Value means something different to each shopper. And that’s why our full reviews do break down each vehicle in styling, performance, comfort and utility, safety, features, and fuel economy (green). You’ll see the overall ‘TCC Rating,’ but click through the reviews and you’ll also see our assessment in each individual category.
