Iowa has told Tesla to hit the road -- and not in the good way. According to a report, the state's Department of Transportation told Tesla to pack its bags and cut short a planned series of test drives in West Des Moines earlier this month.
Chrysler has issued a recall for 2008 models of the Dodge Charger, Dodge Magnum, Chrysler 300, Jeep Commander, and Jeep Grand Cherokee. Some of those vehicles may suffer from an ignition switch problem that could disable features like windshield wipers, defrosters, and even airbags.

If you were hoping to get your hands on the very first 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, you’re out of luck as the car has just been sold. It was put up for auction by Dodge, which plans to donate all proceeds from the sale to the charity organization Opportunity Village, which helps those with intellectual disabilities.

Now that German carmakers have started to work in earnest on plug-in hybrids, expect to see a whole lot more of them in the coming years--though not always in North America. Following the Volkswagen Golf GTE plug-in hybrid it unveiled last year, which is now on sale in Europe, the second VW to carry that powertrain has been unveiled ahead of its official debut at the Paris Motor Show this week.
By all indications, there will be an all-electric 2017 Chevrolet Sonic EV for which General Motors is targeting a range of 200 miles. And one of the keys to achieving such a range from a compact car will be a more energy-dense battery than those used today.
Caveat emptor. Or, for those less conversant in Latin, buyer beware. That's the lesson that should always apply when buying a used car. Especially one with obvious damage.
