30 Days Of The 2013 Audi Allroad

May 31, 2013
While you may think we just spend our days driving supercars and taking high-performance luxury sedans around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, we also daydream of well-packaged wagons.

To prove it, we are spending the next 30 days going in-depth with a 2013 Audi Allroad. Yes, we've written a full review of the 2013 Audi Allroad, and brought you first driving impressions with a video road test. But we want even more seat time with this German wagon to find out what it's like to live with for more than a few days.

We'll be spending the month with a Moonlight Blue metallic 2013 Audi Allroad powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated at 211 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The power is sent through an eight-speed automatic transmission and put to the ground through Audi's quattro all-wheel-drive system. The base price is listed at $39,600 and the EPA rated it at 20 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway, or 23 mpg combined.

Our Allroad is a Premium Plus model which adds $3,300 to the sticker price along with an auto-dimming interior mirror with a compass; auto-dimming power-folding heated mirrors; Audi's music interface with iPod cable; Bluetooth preparation; a driver information system with trip computer; heated front seats with driver side memory function; HomeLink garage door opener; Audi xenon plus lighting with LED daytime running lights; three-zone climate control; and a power tailgate.

Rounding out our Allroad's option list is Audi advance key (a $550), and the $3,050 Audi MMI Navigation plus package, which includes a CD/DVD-player with HD radio, MMI Navigation plus with voice control, a color driver information display, Audi parking system plus with rearview camera, Audi connect with online services, and Bluetooth streaming audio.

All in, including destination, this Allroad shows a sticker price of $47,870.

We have plenty in store for the Allroad until it goes away at the end of June. We'll take the Allroad off-road, and see if its fuel-economy rings true. We'll do the usual photo, video, and social media stuff, but we'll also take an in-depth look at some of the features, options, accessories, and a little Allroad history along the way. After the next 29 days we're sure you'll end up missing the Allroad just as much as we will.
