For people who buy pickup trucks, powertrain options are a big deal, and the Silverado has three new engine options. A completely new 4.3-liter V-6 is the base engine, while revised 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V-8s are also available. All three engines feature direct injection, continuously variable valve timing, and cylinder deactivation technology. All three engines feature six-speed automatic transmissions, and both rear-wheel and four-wheel drive configurations will be available.
Styling wise, the exterior features a more upright-front end complimented by flared fenders and sculpted sheetmetal. The "twin dome" hood design from the current Silverado Heavy Duty has been applied to the new 1500 model.
Inside the new Silverado features a simplified instrument panels with big buttons, and easy-to-read gauges. The Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system will be available which provides app support such as Pandora and Bluetooth audio streaming.
One of our favorite new innovations is the new rear-bumper cargo-step system which will make it easier to access the bed.
Chevrolet's given Crew Cab models wider door openings, while extended cab models now feature front-hinged doors. These changes will make it easier to both enter and exit the cab.
