Earlier this year Chevrolet revealed the 2013 Sonic RS at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. Today it priced the Sonic RS from $20,995 including destination with a manual transmission and $22,280 with an automatic transmission.
The Sonic RS features a new RS-specific grille along with new front and rear fascias. The styling is more aggressive than the standard Sonic, and the rocker moldings along with rear spoiler really give this hatchback a sporty look. The 17-inch alloy wheels fill the wheel wells without looking too large for the small car.
While power hasn't increased from the 1.4-liter turbo four-cylinder engine, the 138 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque easily move this little subcompact around town quickly. The suspension has been lowered and stiffened with performance-tuned dampers.
Inside the Sonic RS features leather seats with suede inserts with red RS accents. A new leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel has contrasting stitching and a flat-bottom design which matches the leather-wrapped shift knob's red stitching when equipped with a manual transmission. Aluminum pedals and unique instrument panel graphics finish off the interior while Chevrolet's MyLink infotainment system will keep you connected.
