2012 Hyundai Veloster Six-Month Road Test: Yellowstone Photo Gallery

August 15, 2012
By now we are sure you've read all about our great American road trip. Our trip took us from Portland, Oregon to Minneapolis, Minnesota, with dozens of places in between. One of those places was Yellowstone National Park, and boy was it gorgeous. We took the opportunity to take some quick photos of our Vitamin C-colored Veloster next to Yellowstone Lake.

Some quick interesting facts about Yellowstone Lake: It's the second largest fresh water lake in the world above 7,000 feet. It features 110 miles of shoreline, it has 20 mile stretches of open water, and it encompasses 136 square miles. Did we mention it's gorgeous?

A quick refresher on our road trip: Fuel economy wise we averaged 30 mpg during the trip on the longer highway stints with that average rising to 34 mpg during our shorter highway drives. Whenever we stopped for fuel or at rest stops people always had questions about the Veloster, ranging from fuel economy and powertrain to styling and brand.

Overall the Veloster was a great little car for our road trip. It was able to hold more cargo than we expected and the seats were comfortable for all-day driving. There was a bit more road noise than we would've liked, and at times we wished the turbo engine were the base powertrain. By the end of the trip, the Veloster soundly proved itself to be just as capable on a long highway road trip as it is driving around town.
