It's hard to believe the Chevrolet Traverse is already due for a refresh, but in two weeks at the New York Auto Show that is exactly what Chevrolet will show us. To get us excited, GM has just released a teaser image of the interior of the 2013 Traverse.
The current Traverse is a fine vehicle, but the interior design is boring and the materials are hard. This teaser image gives us hope that the interior of the refreshed Traverse will be a much nicer place to spend time on the road. With what appear to be soft-touch materials and simulated aluminum trim, the interior seems much more luxurious. The wood in the images looks like faux veneer, and while we aren't big fans of that sort of stuff, we'll reserve final judgement until we see the vehicle in the metal.
We also spot a new infotainment system that appears to be quite similar to that one recently revealed at the Chicago Auto Show in the new 2013 GMC Acadia. If it is the same system, we can expect capacitive touch controls and a touch-screen interface.
The powertrain is expected to remain the same, with a V-6 connected to a six-speed automatic. The Traverse will also likely still be offered in front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations.
