2014 Porsche Macan teaser
If you like luxury SUVs but have a difficult time choosing from the selections already in showrooms, we have bad news: Porsche is about to make your decision a little tougher. The squad from Stuttgart is finally set to debut its newest SUV, which should roll off the assembly lines late next year.
The model is called the Macan, which is the production name of the Cajun SUV that everyone's been talking about for the past year and a half. According to a press release from Porsche, "The name Macan is derived from the Indonesian word for tiger and combines suppleness, power, fascination and dynamics – core characteristics of the new off-road car."
Apart from that and the teaser image shown here, though, Porsche didn't release any details about the newest member of its family. Based on that sketch, it looks as if the Macan may be slightly smaller and lower than the Cayenne -- perhaps more akin to early versions of the Lexus RX crossover. But that's pure speculation, of course.
All we know for sure is that the first Macans should be manufactured in 2013. They probably won't arrive in U.S. showrooms until 2014, though.
