CUE infotainment system

The 2012 XTS also marks the debut of the CUE infotainment system, regarded by some industry watchers as a revolutionary next step for vehicle interfaces. CUE provides several firsts in the industry, including the first capacitative touch-screen, the first to incorporate proximity sensing, and the first to use multi-touch gestures like those used on tablets and smartphones.

No word on pricing yet

Though Cadillac has not released any pricing yet for the XTS, GM’s Reuss has indicated it will be in the neighborhood of its German rivals. Reading between the lines, that means the XTS pricing may fall somewhere between the starting price of close to $50,000 for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and the $71,000 base price for the BMW 7-Series.

The 2012 Cadillac XTS goes on sale in the spring of 2012.
