2011 Kia Optima Hybrid, road test, Aug 2011
Kia is in the midst of launching the Optima Hybrid, and what better way to build up hype than with a shiny new Facebook application? Earlier today, Kia launched the Hybrid Myth Busters app on the Kia Optima Facebook fan page.
The app tests your knowledge regarding hybrid vehicles with questions surrounding typical hybrid myths. Kia's goal is to make people more aware and help them learn about hybrids in a fun and social setting.
We took the quiz, and while some questions are definitely spot on regarding hybrids, others can be conditional and somewhat situational. One of the questions has to do with whether hybrids can save you money. This question has many factors that go into an answer, and it isn't always a yes or no question. It depends on various factors for each individual such as where you live, current gas prices, and how much you drive. Kia neglects to point these things out, and there don't seem to be any asterisks laying around.
The application also gives you the ability to challenge your friends.
Head on over to the Kia Optima Facebook fan page and take the Hybrid Myth Busters quiz. Let us know in the comments what you scored and if you think this is an effective way for Kia to market the new Optima Hybrid.
