2010 Dodge Ram 3500 HD
Dodge is recalling some 242,780 Ram 1500, Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 pickups built between model years 2008 and 2011. On certain trucks, the left tie rod ball stud may fracture, resulting in the potential loss of steering from the left front wheel.
The failure is most likely to occur while making a sharp turn at low speeds, common while entering or exiting a parking lot space.
Specific models affected by this recall are:
- 2008 to 2011 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 4x4
- 2008 to 2011 Dodge Ram 3500 Chassis Cab 4x2
- 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 Mega Cab 4x4
Dealers will inspect the tie rod ends and replace the left outer tie rod as required. Dodge will also provide a front end toe alignment if necessitated by repairs. A timeline for the recall has not yet been established, but owners with questions or concerns can reach Chrysler’s customer service hotline at (800) 853-1403.
Owner may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at (888) 327-4236.
