2012 Ford Mustang equipped with SYNC AppLink
Ford's SYNC system has a lot of features, but the one thing it is missing is a real live person. That may be changing, as Ford has announced it is beta-testing live operator assistance for its SYNC services.
Ford says no extra hardware or software is necessary. By using the Operator Assist voice command, you will be connected to a live person. The live operator can assist you with a variety of tasks, ranging from directions and business searches to checking the weather and stock prices.
These new features sound a lot like what what OnStar already offers. Yesterday OnStar tweeted, "Hearing that the competitors are testing live advisors. Our team's been out there 24/7/365 for 15 years #latetotheparty."
Today we ask you, will Ford's live SYNC assistants match OnStar? Tweet us your response and make sure to include the hashtag #TelematicsWars -- and you'll join the chorus right here via CoverItLive.
