Team JapSpeed IJZ Subaru Impreza
We've heard stories about stolen cars being recovered with the help of social media. We've even seen the police trying to use social media to recover stolen vehicles. Now comes the story of a unique car being stolen from a display stand at an auto show.
This past Sunday Team JapSpeed's IJZ Subaru Impreza drift car was stolen from the display stand at the Performance Vauxhaull show. This is despite the fact that the car had been immobilized.
Soon after the theft the car was filmed on the road by fans and uploaded to YouTube. The footage helped police recover the stolen vehicle in a nearby garage. Sadly the rear bumper, spoiler, and lights had all been removed. Thankfully this was the extent of the damage.
Without the fans' YouTube footage of the stolen car on the roads, police might not have found the vehicle as quickly, if at all. Yet another example of how using your social network in a time of need can be priceless.
