Obama Limo Gets High Centered
While the President makes his way back home, avoiding Icelandic volcanoes and heading to view the destruction from tornadoes in Joplin, Missouri, he may want to look back at the screening process for hiring his Secret Service limousine driver.
On a routine visit to the Irish capital of Dublin, the President's Cadillac limo got high-centered as it exited the U.S. Embassy compound, causing embarrassment for the Paddies and bringing up two words the White House Press Secretary never wants to hear again.
The Caddy limo doesn't have four-wheel drive, which might have helped--and instead has about a ton of extra reinforcement like bulletproof glass and extra-thick sheetmetal, not to mention a couple hundred pounds of satellite-based telecom gear.
The BBC says the President (or possibly Mrs. Obama) were forced to leave by another exit until the car could be extracted.
