2006 Dodge Rampage concept
Back in 2006 Dodge introduced the Rampage Concept, a Honda Ridgeline like lifestyle truck. While the world waited, nothing ever became of this design study. Now we hear that Dodge is considering putting such a concept into production for the 2014 model year.
It's no secret that many consumers probably don't need the full capabilities that many full-size trucks offer. But with four doors and increasingly better fuel economy, it's becoming hard to justify buying a smaller truck when the larger one is nearly the same price.
The Honda Ridgeline offers not only most of the capabilities that many consumers need in a truck, but also some really innovative packaging. For example, the in-bed lockable storage and dual-action tail-gate. These features, and many others, make the Ridgeline a really unique truck, but consumers just haven't flocked to the showfloor like Honda had hoped. Is it because the truck isn't from a domestic brand?
