2010 Mercedes-Benz S-Class
The 2011 Cadillac Escalade luxury SUV and 2011 Mercedes-Benz S-Class have topped AutoPacific's 2011 Vehicle Satisfaction Awards.
Ford has the most wins (seven) at the manufacturer level, while Toyota (four), GM (three), and Hyundai (three) were other top-rated automakers.
Among the particularly interesting top-rated vehicle models: Suzuki took first place among mid-size sedans with its Kizashi, a slow-selling but well-regarded model (including here at TCC); Ford's Flex and Explorer models took two of the top crossover SUV spots. Ford took the top spot among hybrid cars, with its 2011 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid.
The annual awards, now in their 15th year, are based on the the consulting firm's gathered responses of more than 68,000 new-vehicle owners. Over 48 different categories, they look at satisfaction in the first several months of ownership.
