Luxury automaker Mercedes-Benz USA, headquartered in Montvale, New Jersey, is among the most-heralded companies in America, rising to number 15 spot on Fortune Magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For.”
That Mercedes-Benz is on the list isn’t surprising. What is, though, is how far it ratcheted up the list since last year’s number 49 spot – as a first-time entrant. Among companies with less than 2,500 employees, Mercedes-Benz USA ranks number eight in this year’s survey.
Why should consumers care where an automaker ranks on Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” listing? For one thing, no other automakers are on this year’s list. For another, this is the magazine’s 14th annual survey. But even more important, consumers – who want high-quality, reliable vehicles – should care that the ones they purchase or lease are built, distributed, marketed and serviced by automakers whose employees think the company is a great place to work.
