Allstate's X the TXT
Texting and driving is one of the more dangerous things you can do. It puts both you, and everyone inside the vehicle, at risk. Not to mention everyone else on the road. Allstate has decided to take a stand against texting and driving which lead to the creation of "X the TXT."
X the TXT is a campaign against texting while driving. The campaign reached a new milestone today with over 100,000 fans on Facebook.
The goal is to raise awareness about the dangers of texting while driving while also providing a solution.
When drinking and driving became a problem the solution was a designated Driver, known as a DD. Allstate has proposed that people have a designated texter in the car using the DSGN8D TXTR app for your smartphone. Because you know, you can't live without texting during that 15 minute drive across town to your friends house.
Regardless, the concept is not a bad idea. Each time you get into the car you should hand your phone to the designated texter. They manage your incoming tweets, texts and Facebook alerts.
To date, over 125,000 people have taken the pledge to not text while driving. These pledges have taken place both at events and online.
