2010 Stealth Ford Taurus Police Interceptor Concept
Last week we reported on The Seattle Police Department (SPD) trialing the use of Twitter to help recover stolen vehicles. This week we bring you the first successful result from that trial.
Earlier today it was reported that a vehicle that was tweeted out as stolen has been recovered by the SPD. The vehicle was reported on the SPD's Twitter account yesterday and a woman spotted the missing vehicle on the 1900 block off 2nd Avenue NW. The patrol officers were sent and the vehicle was recovered.
The SPD Twitter account (@GetYourCarBack) has gained over 100 new followers in the past 24 hours. The account currently has 911 followers.
While no exact date has been set as to how long this Twitter trial will run, we can already see some success.
