2011 Kia Forte Five-Door Hatchback

With a starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $16,895 (EX), the compact 2011 Kia Forte Five-Door Hatchback easily accommodates the first essential: affordable price.

All-New – The five-passenger 2011 Kia Forte Five-Door Hatchback is an all-new model, an addition to the Forte lineup that also includes sedan and Koup.

Performance and Fuel Economy – Power for the front-engine, front-wheel drive 2011 Kia Forte Five-Door Hatchback includes two engines. In the EX, it’s the 156 horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 144 pound-feet of torque. In SX trim, power comes from the 2.4-liter in-line four-cylinder engine that generates 173 horsepower. Transmission choices include standard six-speed manual or optional six-speed automatic.

EPA-estimated fuel economy for the 2.0-liter engine is 25 mpg city/34 mpg highway (manual and automatic). In the 2.4-liter engine, the numbers are 22 mpg city/32 mpg highway (manual) and 23 mpg city/31 mpg highway (automatic).

Safety – For a compact car, the 2011 Kia Forte Five-Door Hatchback features an impressive array of safety technology. These include advanced dual front airbags, dual seat-mounted side airbags, full-length side-curtain airbags, active front headrests, anti-lock brakes (ABS), brake assist, electronic brakeforce distribution, electronic stability control, traction control, and tire pressure monitoring system.

Gadgets & High Tech – Standard tech features on both EX and SX include power windows and door locks with remote keyless entry, six-speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3 satellite audio system, USB and auxiliary input jacks, Bluetooth hands-free connectivity with steering wheel-mounted controls, and trip computer. Sirius Satellite Radio with three free months of service is also standard.

The technology package available on EX and SX includes navigation with rear backup camera, fully automatic temperature control, push-button start, automatic headlamps, chrome-color exterior door handles and fog lamps (EX only). An electro-chromic rearview mirror is optional on SX trim. SX leather package includes leather seat trim and heated front seats.
