Given the price-point of most vehicles in its lineup, you might not think Mercedes-Benz would spend much time on Facebook. But in fact, Facebook is a great place for the luxury automaker to keep its brand front-and-center of future car buyers. It's also a good place for Mercedes to share news of its philanthropic efforts, and to hope they get re-shared across the social network.
Case in point: a recent video clip featuring skateboarding legend Tony Hawk, discussing his involvement with the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation -- a charity co-founded by Daimler "that uses the positive influence of sport to tackle society's most pressing challenges around the globe, supporting projects on every continent".
Mercedes loses a couple of points because they've got Tony Hawk on camera, and yet, the video seems fairly dull. We should probably ding them a few more points because we don't think Mercedes' Steve Cannon really knows who Tony Hawk is.
Because the clip resides on Facebook, and because Facebook isn't really down with the idea of making its videos embeddable (and thus, shareable outside the network), you'll have to click through to see it, but it's a short, easy trip to make.
