Our first drive review of the 2011 Honda CR-Z is coming later today, but before that, we have this video of the hopefully-sporty little hybrid scoring five stars in Euro NCAP crash testing.
Five starts in the Euro NCAP is a very good result, and bodes well for NHTSA and IIHS testing here in the U.S. Europe's testing is slightly different; they use higher speeds, lighter sleds, and different impact angles to test front and side impact. The differences mean some vehicles perform better in one system than the other, depending on their design, but are generally regarded as largely analogous.
The details of the Euro NCAP testing reveal the CR-Z scored 93 percent for protection of adult occupants and 80 percent for child occupants.
