It's been a busy week already here at High Gear Media, but without a doubt, one of the biggest news stories of the week is the pricing of the 2011 Chevrolet Volt--the extended-range electric vehicle GM will deliver beginning this fall.
The Volt's been a labor of love at General Motors since 2006, first showing the electric-gas vehicle as a concept at the 2007 Detroit auto show. Since then, the world's become even more accustomed to driving hybrid vehicles, and even more ready for putting one in their own garage. We've seen record sales of hybrids like the Toyota Prius and a Car of the Year win for the Ford Fusion Hybird, all while GM put the finishing touches on the 2011 Volt.
Now GM is ready to step in to the green-car fray. We've covered the 2011 Volt extensively here at TheCarConnection and over on our sister High Gear Media sites, GreenCarReports and AllCarsElectric. Today, we're convening a panel of experts--our own editors--to talk about the Volt and give you even more insight into how the Volt might fare against the likes of the Prius and especially, the 2011 Nissan Leaf electric car.
