2011 Ford F-150 To Get Official Custom Vinyl Treatment

June 3, 2010

Ever wished you could have a killer custom graphic on your truck, but didn't want to shell out thousands to have it done? Ford has the answer, with official custom vinyl graphics for the F-150 that should cost about half as much.

About 50 options will be available for the 2011 F-150, including camouflage, faux diamond-plate aluminum, and more. The best part? It's all done officially through Ford, so you know the graphics will fit and look right on the road.

“Vinyl wraps are typically half the cost of custom paint work,” said Tom Stemple, CEO of Original Wraps, Inc., the vinyl company behind Ford's new initiative. “Another advantage is that they can be easily removed if the customer wants a new design or decides to sell the vehicle. Paint is permanent, and custom-painted vehicles are often much more difficult to resell.”

Owners will be able to choose the look of their truck and preview the possibilities through a new website, FordCustomGraphics.com. The site, which isn't fully live yet, promises to make the process quick and easy.

You don't have to worry about it looking tattered after a few months, either--all of the graphics installed at Ford dealerships through the program and warrantied for three years or 36,000 miles.
