Recall Alert: 2010 Subaru Legacy and Outback

May 18, 2010

Subaru has recalled 2010 Subaru Outback and Legacy models due to a faulty transmission cooling hose in the continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).

According to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA), the hose could crack or split, leading to a leak. If the fluid completely leaks out, the car could come to a sudden stop, possibly causing a crash.

In total, 29,443 vehicles produced between July 31 and December 1, 2009 are being recalled. Subaru will perform the repairs free of charge for customers.

Owners can contact Subaru at 1-800-782-2783 or NHTSA at 1-800-424-9153.
