Video: Indigen Armor NSTT Pickup Takes AK-47 Fire, Doesn't Flinch

May 5, 2010

You just finished your super-mega-off-road truck project, so you take it out to the local proving grounds and break it in. Then you whip out the AK-47s and start firing at it. Well, you do if you're Indigen Armor, anyway.

This video shows the NSTT, or Non-Standard Tactical Truck, in some serious, live-fire testing. First attacking a road course to prove its paved-road mettle, then the off-road course to show it has what it takes when the pavement runs out, the NSTT eventually ends up at the wrong end of an AK-47--with passengers in the vehicle.

Unperturbed by the high-veolocity projectiles impacting just inches from them, the NSTT's passengers chat in complete protection. That's one tough truck.

Best of all, it's pretty cool-looking, fully-armored, has four doors and four seats, is four-wheel drive, and uses a 6.0-liter turbodiesel engine capable of burning JP-8 jet fuel and a range of other fuels.

Indigen Armor is an armored vehicle contractor to the U.S. military, and the NSTT is the company's answer to the shortcomings of existing military armored vehicles. Built from the ground up, they can be built to a variety of configurations, and can even be disguised to look like standard OEM-brand vehicles.
