Minivan Wars: 2011 Toyota Sienna SE vs. 2010 Honda Odyssey EX Page 2

May 6, 2010

2011 Toyota Sienna

While Honda doesn't have a special sporting variant of the Odyssey minivan, it reigned supreme for years as pretty much the one and only "driver's minivan." Sadly, however, in the never ending game of Toyota/Nissan one-upmanship it appears that the Sienna SE is now the more fun to drive choice.

Fortunately for Honda, most families don't worry about "fun to drive" and the Odyssey still has an interior design that is at least the equal of the Sienna. The 3.5-liter V-6 makes 244 hp and 245 lb-ft, and it may be down a bit on the figures in the Sienna but this Honda unit has been and always will be revvy, punchy and refined.

The exterior styling of the 2010 Odyssey, well, it has been on the market for quite a few years as the best selling minivan in the country so you must know what one looks like by now. While it lacks the subtle menace of the Sienna SE, it is probably the more classically handsome of the pair. So which one should you buy? Read on.

While you really can't lose with an Odyssey it appears there is a new champ in town and its name is Toyota Sienna SE. But just give it another 6-10 months and no doubt there will be a new king in town. And from what we hear about the next generation Odyssey, it's going to be a tough fight.
