2010 Dodge Nitro: 100 Percent Attitude On Wheels

March 31, 2010
Dodge has long been known as the granddaddy of Get 'er Done trucks and tough-as-nails vehicles. Heck, even the Dodge Avenger, Caliber, Challenger and Charger are not just cars they are carefully contrived steel, chrome and 100 percent attitude on wheels.

So, its no wonder that Dodge has done it again with their newest offering, the 2010 Nitro. This thing looks like it could be an extra in a Transformers movie with a squared off frame, wide shoulder stance, 20 aluminum wheels, and exquisitely masculine styling. This is definitely not your sisters SUV!

The Nitro will be available in three models, the Heat, Detonator and Shock. All of these macho models draw their power from a standard 4.0-liter overhead cam V-6 engine and deliver 260 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque. A five-speed automatic transmission and performance suspension keep the driver in control while navigating through city jungles or off road excursions. Each model will be available in nine different exterior colors including Detonator Yellow which is so luminous it could be seen through a British fog bank at midnight. The Nitro interior is designed to be comfortable and entertaining with eight speakers, a 368-watt amplifier, nine-inch subwoofer, iPod Control, Uconnect Phone, and SIRIUS Satellite Radio.  Deep tinted glass and an auto-dimming rear view mirror continue to add to the cool factor of this vehicle.

Differences between the Nitro Heat, Detonator, and Shock models are slight. The Heat has a unique grill painted to match the body color rather than the gleaming chrome seen on the other Nitros. The Detonator comes equipped with remote start, parking assist, striped hood decals and premium cloth interior, matched to the exterior color. The Shock model is the ultimate Nitro with all the standard features of the Detonator and the addition comfort of heated leather seats and a sun roof.

Truth be told these 2010 Dodge Nitros are head-turners and will soon be catching your eye. If you happen to spot a yellow one just make sure you are wearing sunglasses.

Make sure to get on the waiting list to test drive one of these bad boys at your local Dodge dealer today.
