Toyota recently issued a somewhat bizarre recall of just two – yes, just TWO – Tundra pickups!

Our colleagues over at Autoblog reported that Toyota has recalled a grand total of 8,500,002 vehicles over the past few months. The last two of these recalled vehicles are reportedly Tundra pickups. Autoblog stated, “This most recent recall involves a pair of four-wheel-drive Toyota Tundra pickups that may have an improperly welded front propeller shaft.”

Autoblog stated that it is still uncertain whether the two Tundras in question are also subject to the earlier frame rust recall. Whatever the case, though the volume of affected vehicles in this particular recall is infinitesimally small, it’s just one more dose of fuel added to the inferno of bad press for Toyota. In spite of all the company’s myriad efforts in recent days to get quality under control, to soothe customers’ frayed nerves, and to salvage long-time customer loyalty, Toyota just keeps getting hammered over and over with recalls both small and great.

Stay tuned to as we continue to monitor Toyota’s efforts to climb out of the gigantic recall hole it finds itself in.
