Next-gen Global Ford Ranger Spied in Camo

January 30, 2010

Recently snapped spy photos confirm that work continues on Ford’s next-generation global Ford Ranger compact pickup.

Our colleagues at have posted some spy photos of Ford’s next-gen Ranger pickup in heavy camouflage. The test mule captured in the photos was a crew cab model appearing similar in size to the current Explorer SportTrac, albeit with a more substantial cargo box.

The commentary by suggested that this upcoming “global” Ranger would not be truly global, since the U.S. and Canadian markets will likely be denied this little jewel. They suggest that Ranger buyers in the U.S. and Canada will likely have to make do with a de-contented version of the future F-150.

Check out a recent post HERE at where we addressed some remarks by Alan Mulally at the D.C. Auto Show that suggest the Ranger might have a fighting chance in the U.S. after all. Stay tuned to as we keep our finger on the pulse of the market slot currently filled by the Ford Ranger.
