Toyota Tundra Recall Update - Turns Out Toyota Had to Halt Sales and Production

Here we thought Toyota was just halting sales and production of all recalled Toyota Tundra pickups and other affected models out of concern for customer safety. Now it looks like Toyota actually had to suspend sales and production per National Highway Traffic Safety Administration regs.


The honorable John Neff, main cog at has reported that the decision to halt production and sales of recall-affected models was not Toyota’s alone. Autoblog stated, “…Toyota is required by law to stop selling the vehicles since there is no fix available yet.” A later post at Autoblog that shortly followed this one stated that Toyota apparently has replacement accelerator pedals ready to go and is readying affected assembly plants to incorporate the fix.
