Toyota Tundra Recall Update - Production of 2010 Models and Sales of 2007-10 Models Halted

January 26, 2010

Toyota has announced a halt to sales and production of all recalled Toyota Tundra pickups.

As a follow-up to a recent post HERE at regarding Toyota’s recent recall of 2007-2010 Toyota Tundra pickups for repairs to the accelerator pedal assembly, the company has now announced that production of 2010 Tundras has been halted for now. Toyota has also put a temporary stop to the sale of new and used 2007-2010 Tundras until repairs can be made to the vehicles affected by the recall.

Our colleagues at reported that this move, while seemingly drastic, is intended to ensure the safety of Toyota’s customers and to help restore confidence in the company. Toyota has been beset by a slew of quality gaffs, very embarrassing recalls, and bad press over the past year. The company is apparently doing its best to avoid further missteps and to make it right wherever they’ve goofed.
