2010 BMW 5-series Gran Turismo

To many, the new 2010 BMW 5-Series GT is the answer to a question nobody asked. Part crossover, part wagon, and part sedan--and in the 550i, part sports car--the 5-Series GT attempts to be all things to all people but never really hits its mark. [Motor Authority]

Alfa Romeo is working on a brand new flagship sedan to replace its former 166. Destined to be called the 169, the new car will share its underpinnings with the 2011 Chrysler 300 and will go up against the likes of the BMW 5-Series and Cadillac CTS--best of all, the 169 is likely to be sold in the North America. Ferrari has a new exhibition dedicated to no particular model, but to the brand’s history of paint jobs. Yes that’s right. Entitled "Non Solo Rosse," or "Not Only Red," the exhibition even includes a display of some of the Ferrari Rosso Corsa paint that was rocketed into space back in 2003 and sent to Mars. [Edmunds]

Bonhams & Butterfields is hosting an auction at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles this Saturday, with a number of celebrity rides up on the auction block. Some of illustrious owners of vehicles being auctioned include Steve McQueen and Frank Sinatra. [AutoWeek]

Toyota’s recent decision to pull out of F1 means the race cars the company developed for next year’s season is of no use. This mean the cars could potentially be up for sale--but don’t pull out your chequebooks just yet as the cars will likely be sold to another team. [F1-Live]
