Green is the theme today, as Honda is finally officially talking about building a battery-powered electric vehicle, just as the Aptera 2e gets congressional approval to be treated as a car, opening the door for more research dollars and potentially tax rebates for consumers.
The Progressive Automotive X Prize, seeking to find a 100 mpg mass-production, affordable alternative-fuel vehicle, has also whittled down its 97 original entrants to just 43 remaining teams fielding 53 project cars. The final results are due in September, 2010.
It's not all green, though, with a delicious slice of silver brightening the day of enthusiasts everywhere. Live from Lisbon, Motor Authority has a full gallery of fresh photos of the 2010 911 Turbo. Also on the luxury side of things, Infiniti's plans for a new Audi A3/BMW 1-Series rival have leaked and an armored Rolls Royce joins up with a hyper-expensive Russian SUV for good measure.
