2010 Jaguar XJL supercharged Neiman Marcus edition
Given the global economy, you might expect retailers to scale back this holiday season. And surely, some have -- but not Neiman Marcus. The upscale, Dallas-based department store has joined forces with Jaguar to present a very special, supercharged, Neiman Marcus edition of the 2010 Jaguar XJL. And the price? A very special, supercharged $105,000.
So what makes the Neiman Marcus edition stand out? Well, for starters, it's packing a five-piece set of Jaguar luggage, designed in navy blue leather. It also comes with an exclusive paint job in Celestial Black, paired with a navy and ivory leather interior, complemented by Zebrano (aka Zebrawood) accents. And there's a nameplate in the cabin that reads "Neiman Marcus 1 of 50".
Beyond that, the Neiman Marcus special edition looks to have many of the bells and whistles found on the standard 2010 Jaguar XJL (if you want to call anything on the XJL "standard"). Under the hood, there's a supercharged, five-liter V8 that cranks out 470 hp. The transmission is automatic, but it comes with paddle shifters to accommodate various driving styles, including sport and winter modes. The XJL's frame is light, cast from aluminum and magnesium, and its greenhouse is airy, thanks in part to a panoramic glass roof. And of course, the sedan comes with Jaguar's usual complement of dashboard gadgetry, including a media hub and a very sweet sound system.
There are only 50 Neiman Marcus models to be made, and they go on sale next Friday, October 16, at noon Eastern. (FYI, the reservation number is 866 524 6963.) If your silk stockings can handle the XJL's pricetag, you can call us jealous. Also: call and let us know when you're taking us for a spin.
