And The Nominees Are: 2010 North American, European Car Of The Year Finalists Announced

We're still months away from learning the identity of the 2010 North American Car and Truck of the Year winners, but we already know who's in the running. The organizers have released their "long list" of 37 vehicles, which are eligible because they are "substantially new or have been modified to change their nature". Those 37 will be figuratively kicked around by a select group of auto journos over the coming months to determine which deserves to come out on top. The winners will be announced in January 2010 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

And for our friends across the pond, there's news for you, too: 30 nominees for the 2010 European Car of the Year Award have also been announced. Even better: you don't have to wait as long as we do for the results, since the European winner will be revealed on November 30 of this year.
