
Cadillac-La Salle ad from National Geographic, February 1929
LaSalle ads always make us think of the theme song from All in the Family. This one from the February 1929 issue of National Geographic also makes us wonder about the poor schmuck who wrote all that copy. Where is he now? Still talking? However, we do like his opening line: "You have only to pause where the smartest people congregate...and you will inevitably discover a preponderance of Cadillacs and La Salles." Who knew that just a few months later, all those smart people would be jumping from Wall Street windows?
